- Difficult to segregate wasted disposed together with municipal Wastes.
Remediation/Improvement of existing 11 illegal dump sites
11 illegal dumping sites have been identified in various parts of the State 04 sites in Knapur, 01 site at Ghaziabnad, 01 site at Lucknow and 05 industrial premises in Mathura, 05 industries of Mathura, which had disposed their wastes illegally within their factory premises are presently closed and the State Board has directed these industries to cleanup their wastes I.T.R.C. Lucknow have been asked to visit the illegal sites and submit the assessment report along with financial proposals for preparing the project report of these 11 illegal sites by 31 May, 2006 in this regard.

Kanpur
Site at Rooma notified and acquired. The land has been transferred to Kanpur Nagar Nigam who are implementing the project. TSDF is to be developed under Indo-dutch Project. Rs. 2.86 Crores have been sanctioned by Government of India to Kanpur Nagar Nigam of which Rs. 10 Core has been disbursed. As per progress sent by Kanpur Nagar Nigam, the following works have been executed :-
- Platform for sludge solidification has been constructed.
- Excavation with relation to landfill unit has been completed.
- Compaction work of clay of first layer is in progress.
Kanpur Dehat
Site identified, notified and acquired at Village Kumbhi, Kanpur Dehat. 10.0 Hectores acquired by local administration and handed over to U.P. Pollution Control Board.
For setting up a T.S.D.F. for Hazardous wastes. M/s Ramky Enviro Engg. Pvt. Ltd. has been identified as operation for the TSDF planned on the balance 7.0 hectares land. A lease agreement for land has been executed and the operator has deposited the annual lease rent in the Board. Pollution Control Board has issued site clearance to M/s Ramky Enviro Engg. Pvt. Ltd. The D.P.R. has been prepared.
Banthar, Unnao
Site identified and acquired at village Banthar within the Leather Technology Park being developed by the U.P. State Industrial Development Corporation. Project being implemented by Banthar Industrial Pollution Control Company.
The T.S.D.F. will cater to Hazardous wastes generated from Tanneries situated in the Leather Technology Park at Unnao. It will be an integrated complex on 31 acres with a Common Effluent Treatment Plant, Central Chrome Recovery Unit and a T.S.D.F. The total area proposed is 18 acres for the T.S.D.F. Acquisition proceedings under section 4/17, have been completed. Land acquisition by U.P.S.I.D.C. has handed over 12 acres of land to M/s Banthar Industrial Pollution Control Company out of 18 acres land. Out of this 12 acre only 8 acre has been reported to be usable.
2.5 acres in the premises of the C.E.T.P. (CETP premises : 12 acre) is being developed as a T.S.D.F. which would suffice for 3 years. The excavation has been completed and ramming accomplished.The secured landfill is being developed as per Central Pollution Control Board guidelines by Banthar Industrial Pollution Control Company. Lining of HDPF and filling of filter media which was expected to be completed by December 2005, is now expected to be completed by June, 2006.
Ghaziabad or Bulandshahar
In Ghaziabad two sites were identified, one at Chhaparaula and the other at Dhaulana Gulaothi Marg, Ghaziabad but none of these sites could be acquired due to various reasons. Therefore a new site is proposed at Bulandshahar for which E.I.A. has already been done in the past.
Muzaffarnagar
Hazardous solid waste disposal site has been also identified at Begarajpur Industrial Area, Muzaffar Nagar. M/s Ramkey Engg. Pvt. Ltd. has been issued to the operator. They have informed vide letter dated 27.1.2006 that they had planned it for 3 rd phase after completion of TSDF's at Kanpur Dehat and Ghaziabad.
