Increasing Trend of Stressed Blocks
The ground water estimation data, as given in the following table, clearly indicate that the state is gradually leading to stressed ground water condition.

The table depicts that:
· There were only 02 blocks categorized as over-exploited in year 2000, which has increased to a very high figure of 2011.
· The critical blocks are also increasing rapidly.
· The more stressed districts are Baghpat, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Agra, Amroha, Sambhal, Jaubpur, Pratapgarh, Fatehpur, Firozabad, Bulandshahar and Mahoba.
