Order of the NGT in the matter of Vikas Singh Vs Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board & Others dated 24/01/2019 regarding brick kilns operating in violation of the Uttar Pradesh Brick Kiln Rules, 2012. According to the applicant, 146 brick kilns are operating in district Hapur. 124 are operating without Consent to Operate and 88 are operating without Environmental Clearance. The operation of the brick kilns is causing huge air pollution.
NGT directs Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) and District Magistrate, Hapur to look into the matter and take appropriate action in accordance with law and furnish a factual and action taken report to the Tribunal within one month.
